    The Nevada Chapter of the US Green Building Council advocates adoption of green building principles in codes, construction and education to create a sustainable culture in Nevada. In recent years the Chapter has been active regionally and Nationally to ensure that we can see green buildings for all within a generation!


    The Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative educates and advocates for a restorative future using the worlds most stringent green building rating system the Living Building Challenge as the tool for transformative change.


  • Humann Principal again a Future City Competition – Judge

    Our Principal was asked again to contribute to the success of the Future City Competition for the 2014-2015 middle school year as a Lead Judge.  The annual event will occur on Saturday January 24, 2015 at the Northwest Regional Career and Technical Academy.

    The competition’s is described within program materials as:

    “The Future City Competition is a program designed for 6th, 7th and 8th graders to foster an interest in math, science, engineering, architecture, and construction through hands-on, real-world applications. The students create and design a city of the future by engaging in the planning, engineering design and building process – identifying problems, brainstorming ideas, designing solutions, testing, retesting and building, and finally communicating their results.”

  • Our Principal to Present Awards at USGBC Nevada’s Green Gala

    USGBCNVHumann Building Solutions, LLC‘s Principal will attend the USGBC Nevada’s 2nd Annual Green Gala as one of the awarde presenters for the event.

    Humann Building Solutions in collaboration with Greenview Global, LLC. purchased tables for the event as well as provided donation’s to the USGBC Nevada Chapter to show their steadfast support of the organization’s efforts.

  • LEED v4 Training with USGBC Nevada

    Knowing that our Humann Building Solutions Principal contributed to the authorship of the LEED v4 Ratings Systems USGBC Nevada asked to aid in the presentation of their Sustainable Saturday Education Program

    This in person facilitated all-day five session webinar series presentation will review the technical requirements of the LEED v4 Building Operations and Maintenance (O + M) rating systems. The series will cover each credit category, touch on every prerequisite and credit, and highlight differences specific to project type adaptations. In each session you will also gain essential knowledge for successful implementation of the rating systems by learning credit intents, key concepts, requirements, strategies, referenced standards and synergies within all credit categories of the rating systems.

    LBC 3_0_400Humann Building Solutions Principal as a volunteer facilitator founded the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative in 2011 following his admission into the International Living Future Institute as an Ambassador.  It is no small coincidence that that dedication to see the adoption and exposure of the planet’s most stringent green building rating system materializes in outreach events like the presentation of An Introduction to the Living Building Challenge on September 5th, 2014.

    LEED v4 takes a systems thinking approach and emphasizes the connections within a building in order to improve overall performance. This is the second session of two parts and emphasizes the role of performance and how the underlying frameworks of flexibility, integrative process and performance are aimed at improving the user experience in LEED v4.
    Objectives include:
    • Identify areas of performance based requirements in LEED v4.
    • Describe the role of performance data to address LEED system goals
    • Recognize performance goals in each of the LEED credit categories
    • Identify benefits of the performance criteria in LEED v4
    This course will count as 1 LEED-specific CEU and 1 AIA CEU as applicable.

    February 23, 2014 at Las Vegas Springs Preserve I had the honor of recognizing and thanking the numerous contractors who played an integral part in the permanent installation of  at its final site at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.  The contractors and their families were invited by the Las Vegas Springs Preserve to attend a private event where we had a chance to mix and mingle as well as have a catered lunch where I had the honor of sharing the gratitude of many for the dedication and commitment of these new friends to the Springs Preserve and the DesertSol house.Springs PreserveDesertSol
